Description

SUITABLE:

Reservoir engineers or technical managers responsible for enhanced oil recovery studies and projects.

OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the course, delegates will:

  • Know all the necessary elements in handling waterflood operations;
  • Be able to prepare or handle waterflood operations, etc.

SUMMARY:

  • Introduction: assessment of need for waterflooding
  • Rock and fluid parameters: Review of petrophysical properties, capillary mechanism, concept of relative permeability, rock wettability, fluids mobility and mobility ration concept
  • Evaluation of waterflood performance: empirical “statistical approach” methods, evaluation of oil recovery based on sweep coefficients, microscopic sweep efficiency, etc.
  • Waterflooding
